What Are The Benefits Of Using Intermittent Fasting Apps

Intermittent fasting applications have several unique features that will benefit users in a big way. Users feel certain things while using the applications. However, one must understand how they can help users achieve the same results when they decide to create one.

Motivation

Apps are packed with information, stories, and motivational quotations. They help users feel that they’re making a difference and are worth doing to remain inspired. When they have achieved their goals, or between their journeys, they can share their experiences and inspire others. This will help build the community and create an online base of users’ loyalty to the app.

Achievement

The most effective intermittent fasting applications have progress reports and stats. These reports show users what new goals they’ve achieved. In addition, specific apps offer challenges and daily goals to keep users on track. Getting through the tasks is satisfying.

Reminder

A majority of users use apps to simplify their lives. The app manages and keeps the user on track to stay on track. Nowadays, people are constantly in a hurry with many activities simultaneously. It’s only natural that some things are lost. For instance, windows for eating or the amount of water they drink.

All of these factors and others make up an outstanding intermittent fasting application.

I Love This For The Most Part

I recently started using this app and so far I love it BUT! I dont understand the point of the app asking for a unit when creating a food for the database, if its still not going to allow me to document my food by that unit. For example, I added a product to the database and wanted to document it in the diary by a ml measurement. Even though I selected ml as a standard unit it still gives me oz when it comes tine to journal how much of the product I ate. PLEASE give us more options for measuring the food please! I prefer to measure most things by gram since I believe its the most accurate. Or maybe Im missing something?

Clearly Define The Reason Youre Doing It

Chiropractor Kira C., 29, has been doing intermittent fasting for about three years. She typically fasts once a week, and Kira says she decided to do intermittent fasting knowing it could support her gut health.

Kira points out that intermittent fasting can be tough to stick with if you dont have a reason in mind for following the eating plan. Clearly define the reason that you are doing it, she says. Certain hours get very challenging and you can feel pretty terrible at the moment. Let your ‘big why’ drive you to push through the tough times. For me, that was improving my gut health.

To track your water fast or extended fast times, any fasting app will do the job. All of them either have various fasting schedules to choose from or manual fasting tracking where you can add your own eating and fasting windows.

A handy feature for water fasts would be hydration or water intake tracking. My favorite fasting apps like DoFasting have a feature to track your daily water intake and these apps offer various fasting schedules, which would make them the perfect water fasting apps.

Can Eat Stop Eat Help Me Lose Weight

Probably…but it’s likely because you’re just not eating as much as you’d usually eat, says Julie Upton, RD, co-founder of Appetite for Health.

But, again, the Eat Stop Eat diet isn’t necessarily any better or worse than other forms intermittent fasting like the 5:2 diet . ” is nothing but a twist on regular intermittent fasting, says Upton. There is no data on this specific pattern to say that it’s better or worse than a traditional intermittent-fasting eating schedule.

Great App Even Without Premium

This app is wonderful. I just recently started using it, and I find it to be very helpful. It not only helps with fasting , it also helps with tracking how much water your drinking/gives you reminders to drink water if youd like, gives tips on fasting, can track your steps, and gives you a lot of information on fasting in simple little slides. I am very impressed with the free version of this app, and upgrading to premium doesnt even cost that much. I believe it was around $3.33/month or something like that for premium. Currently I dont intend to switch, but it is something I could see myself doing as I get more into fasting. Im happy with how this app is set up as well, its easy to navigate, is well put together, and is very beginner friendly. I suggest this app for beginners and serious fasters alike 🙂

But Is It Really Healthy To Fast For 16 Hours

For starters, this diet might be hard to maintain. Say goodbye to dinner parties and late-night dates. And god forbid a friend is late to that 5 p.m. dinner you scheduled.

It may be sustainable if you stick to the strict regimen, Warren says. However, this is difficult to maintain in real-life scenarios like social functions.

Halle Berry uses intermittent fasting as part of her diet routine. Here’s how:

Beyond the downer of not being able to go out for a late-night fancy dinner, in rare cases the 16:8 diet could potentially lead to disordered eating, too, notes Hunnes. For example, if youre someone who doesnt do well with long periods of fasting, you might follow a 16-hour fast with a binge or even start to prolong fasting periods longer than you should. Both would be signs that the diets not working for you and that it could progress to something more serious like an eating disorder, she says.

If you eat too late, you could also potentially interfere with the quality of your sleepso its best to eat earlier in the day, suggests Hunnes.

That said, two recent studies in Applied Physiology, Nutrition, and Metabolismshow obese adults can stick to the 16:8 diet without developing or exacerbating body image issues, disordered eating patterns, or sleeping problems.

Should I Try The 1: 8 Dietand How Do I Start

For a generally healthy person, there seems to be no harm in only eating for eight hours each day, says Hunnes.

And while more research is needed on the 16:8 diet, overall, intermittent fasting could improve cholesterol levels and brain function, and lower your risk of developing heart disease, cancer, and stroke. Still, youre probably best off getting a clean bill of health from your doc before embarking on this diet, Hunnes notes.

Related Story

So, how can you get started with the 16:8 diet? It might be wise to gradually ease into longer periods of fasting, says Hunnes. However, she points out, the long-term weight loss benefits from the 16:8 diet werent that much greater than those youd reap if you just ate less throughout the day or switched to a more plant-based dietso you could try simply cutting back on how much youre eating or adding in more plant-based foods, too.

Its a personal choice, and everyone needs to make these choices based on their own lifestyles and ability, Hunnes says.

Related Story

Some people who should not do the 16:8 diet? People with diabetes, kidney disease, or certain metabolic disorders. These conditions can alter your bodys balance, storage, and use of insulin and glucose, making the 16:8 diet a possibly unsafe choice, says Hunnes.
