We realize that not everyone can do the Daniel Fast for all kinds of reasons and thats ok. We have, however, provided some other ideas and practices for those who still want to participate in this fasting season. Our goal is that 100% of our church family would come along side us as we focus our full attention on the things of our heavenly Father.

We Loved Praying With You This Year

Thank you for joining with us in adoration, supplication, confession, thanksgiving and praise for our great God the past 21 days. Going forward into the rest of 2022, we hope you will make the effort to continue in prayer with your family, and that the conversations and activities that have sparked from this guide have been a holy time of growth and love. May you feel the deep love of the Father, the guidance from Jesus and the presence of the Holy Spirit, in everything you do.

Take time to reflect on the passages you read, & what God showed you about your relationship with the world.

  • Where are you in first recognizing & then truly living as an ambassador for God?
  • Have you identified who the 8 to 15 people are in your life that God has put there for you to be His ambassador to?
  • If not, ask God to show you who they are?
  • How are you investing in those relationships to foster an opportunity for God to use you in their lives?
  • Do you know how to share your faith if the opportunity arises?
  • If not, this is your season to learn.
  • Where is God calling you to grow in this relationship & this W to Change Gods WORLD.
  • Take time to pray to God & surrender yourself to Him anew to grow your faith in these areas this next year. Journaling this prayer is a great extra step.

    Thank God for all He has given, & how He has provided, & for what He has in store this year as you grow in your relationship with Him.

    During the 21 Days of Prayer, you will be praying with a purpose and will follow a focused fasting schedule.

    We will be focusing on three specific areas for the next 21 days:

    Prayer, Fasting, Scripture

    For the next 21 days, we will focus by tuning out the distractions of the world and tune in to the things of God.

    During your fast, we encourage you to keep a daily journal. Each day, write any revelations that God gives you about yourself, and about life in general.

    We will also support you with daily scripture, prayers, and email encouragements to help keep our prayer time focused.

    WHAT IS FASTING?

    Fasting, in its most classic sense, means to voluntarily abstain from eating or drinking for an extended period of time.

    When we participate in a fast, it helps us to examine what we are consuming in terms of social, intellectual, spiritual, and emotional food.

    The goal of fasting is a personal encounter with the Living God. While there are physical benefits from fasting, such as cleansing your body, or breaking of addictions, the primary goal of fasting is to experience God.

    So much of our life is about us what we want, and when we want it.

    What would happen if we submitted ourselves and our needs, and in turn, sought God with passion and fervor? What breakthroughs would we see if we seek Him first?

    Days Of Prayer Is For You

    If you sense that God has more for your life, 21 Days of Prayer is a great place to start believing Him for all that He has for you. This is a time when you will put seeking God first into practice, and when you do this, He will start working on your behalf like never before. You will see a difference in your relationships, your work, your family and every area of your life. It is then that you will best be able to spread His love to others.

    In the New Testament, people fasted to minister to the Lord, ordain men to the ministry, and seek God in times of crisis. You must always have a purpose for fasting! …It is important to remember that fasting does not change God. He is the same before, during, and after you fast. But fasting will change YOU.     Tips On Juice Fasting

    • Drinking fruit juice will decrease your hunger pains and give you some natural sugar energy. The taste and lift will motivate and strengthen you to continue.
    • The best juices are made from fresh watermelon, lemons, grapes, apples, cabbage, beets, carrots, celery, or leafy green vegetables. In cold weather, you may enjoy a warm vegetable broth.
    • Mix acidic juices with water for your stomachs sake.
    • Avoid caffeinated drinks.

    When your designated time for fasting is finished, you will begin to eat again. But how you break your fast is extremely important for your physical and spiritual well-being.

    Ways To Experience & Maintain Personal Revival

  • Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal any unconfessed sin in your life.
  • Seek forgiveness from all whom you have offended, and forgive all who have hurt you. Make restitution where God leads.
  • Examine your motives in every word and deed. Ask the Lord to search and cleanse your heart daily.
  • Ask the Holy Spirit to guard your walk against complacency and mediocrity.
  • Praise and give thanks to God continually in all ways on all days, regardless of your circumstances.
  • Refuse to obey your carnal nature .
  • Surrender your life to Jesus Christ as your Savior and Lord. Develop utter dependence on Him with total submission and humility.
  • Study the attributes of God.
  • Hunger and thirst after righteousness .
  • Love God with all of your heart, soul, and mind .
  • Appropriate the continual fullness and control of the Holy Spirit by faith on the basis of Gods command and promise .
  • Read, study, meditate on, and memorize Gods holy, inspired, inerrant Word daily .
  • Pray without ceasing .
  • Fast and pray one 24-hour period each week. Prayerfully consider becoming one of the two million Christians who will fast for forty days before the end of the year 2000.
  • Seek to share Christ daily as a way of life.
  • Determine to live a holy, godly life of obedience and faith.
  • Start or join a home or church Bible study group that emphasizes revival and a holy life.

    Step : Expect Results

    If you sincerely humble yourself before the Lord, repent, pray, and seek Gods face if you consistently meditate on His Word, you will experience a heightened awareness of His presence . The Lord will give you fresh, new spiritual insights. Your confidence and faith in God will be strengthened. You will feel mentally, spiritually, and physically refreshed. You will see answers to your prayers.

    A single fast, however, is not a spiritual cure-all. Just as we need fresh in-fillings of the Holy Spirit daily, we also need new times of fasting before God. A 24-hour fast each week has been greatly rewarding to many Christians.

    It takes time to build your spiritual fasting muscles. If you fail to make it through your first fast, do not be discouraged. You may have tried to fast too long the first time out, or your may need to strengthen your understanding and resolve. As soon as possible, undertake another fast until you do succeed. God will honour you for your faithfulness.

    Step : Prepare Yourself Physically

    21 Days of Prayer and Fasting

    Fasting requires reasonable precautions. Consult your physician first, especially if you take prescription medication or have a chronic ailment. Some persons should never fast without professional supervision.

    Physical preparation makes the drastic change in your eating routine a little easier so that you can turn your full attention to the Lord in prayer.

    • Do not rush into your fast.
    • Prepare your body. Eat smaller meals before starting a fast. Avoid high-fat and sugary foods.
    • Eat raw fruit and vegetables for two days before starting a fast.
    • Avoid drugs, even natural herbal drugs and homeopathic remedies. Medication should be withdrawn only with your physicians supervision.
    • Limit your activity.
    • Exercise only moderately. Walk one to three miles each day if convenient and comfortable.
    • Rest as much as your schedule will permit.
    • Prepare yourself for temporary mental discomforts, such as impatience, crankiness, and anxiety.
    • Expect some physical discomforts, especially on the second day. You may have fleeting hunger pains, dizziness, or the blahs. Withdrawal from caffeine and sugar may cause headaches. Physical annoyances may also include weakness, tiredness, or sleeplessness.

    The first two or three days are usually the hardest. As you continue to fast, you will likely experience a sense of well-being both physically and spiritually. However, should you feel hunger pains, increase your liquid intake.

    All fruit fresh, frozen, dried, or juiced.All vegetables fresh, frozen, dried, or juiced.All whole grains amaranth, barley, brown rice, oats, quinoa, millet, and whole wheat.All nuts & seeds almonds, cashews, macadamia nuts, peanuts, pecans, pine nuts, walnuts, pumpkin seeds, sesame seeds, and sunflower seeds unsweetened almond milk. Nut butters are also included.All legumes canned or dried black beans, black eyed peas, cannellini beans, garbanzo beans , great northern beans, kidney beans, lentils, pinto beans, and split peas.All quality oils avocado, coconut, grapeseed, olive, peanut, sesame, and walnut.Beverages distilled water, filtered water, spring water, and natural fruit juices.Other unsweetened almond milk, coconut milk, rice milk, or soy milk herbs, spices, salt, pepper, unsweetened coconut flakes, seasonings, soy products, and tofu.

    Step : End Your Fast Gradually

    Begin eating gradually. Do not eat solid foods immediately after your fast. Suddenly reintroducing solid food to your stomach and digestive tract will likely have negative, even dangerous, consequences. Try several smaller meals or snacks each day. If you end your fast gradually, the beneficial physical and spiritual effects will result in continued good health.

    Here are some suggestions to help you end your fast properly:

    • Break an extended water fast with fruit such as watermelon.
    • While continuing to drink fruit or vegetable juices, add the following:
    • First day: Add a raw salad.
    • Second day: Add baked or boiled potato, no butter or seasoning.
    • Third day: Add a steamed vegetable.
    • Thereafter: Begin to reintroduce your normal diet.
  • Gradually return to regular eating with several small snacks during the first few days. Start with a little soup and fresh fruit such as watermelon and cantaloupe. Advance to a few tablespoons of solid foods such as raw fruits and vegetables or a raw salad and baked potato.

    *If you have any known medical conditions or suspect such conditions, consult your doctor before beginning the fast.

    **Levels of Participation: Twice in the book of Daniel a fast is mentioned. Once is for 21 days and the second for 10 days. We are asking everyone to join in this 21 day fast but if circumstance wont allow the full fast, we ask that you would set aside a day during the fast to join us in prayer and fasting.

    HOW: There are multiple online resources available on the Daniel Fast. One thing youll notice is that there are many ways to do the fast. To keep it simple, we have included on this page what the staff and Eldership of Christs Church will be doing during the fast and some of the resources we will be using. This fast will require preparation as most meals will be made from scratch. We will have several recipes available .

    How Do You Do The Daniel Fast

    NFM | 21 Days Fasting Prayers | Day – 5

    The Daniel Fast is a partial fast based on a story from the biblical Book of Daniel. Its a strict vegan diet that prohibits animal products, leavened breads, processed foods, caffeine, and alcohol for 1021 days. Some folks follow the diet as an act of spiritual devotion. It is not intended as a weight loss diet.
